What is the “First Note Academy” programme?

“First Note Academy” is the first step for children’s journey in learning a musical instrument. The 6 session programme gives young children an opportunity to try an instrument without the pressure of commitment. Whilst learning the instrument they will practise musical skills such as pulse, rhythm, improvisation and reading music notation, that will prepare them for the next stage of their musical journey.

“First Note Academy” follows the “TED” stages of musical development.

  • TRIAL - Introduces children to a range of musical instruments

  • EXPLORE - A term’s lessons to further decide whether this is the instrument for your child

  • DEVELOP - Commit to the instrument with weekly lessons.

What will your child learn?
